Total Quality & Continuous Improvement - June 2005
Our family business speaker, Mr David Henderson (Owner/CEO), Tobermore Concrete Products, N. Ireland provided honest and relevant insight into his company’s experience on the power of quality in an organisation. After much lively discussion, numerous questions, hints and tips, David suggested that addressing the issue of quality across the entire organisation resulted in a net operating profit of 25% which quickly led to several of the companies arranging visits to Tobermore!
Neil Mitchell (University of Ulster) also provided an outline of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model.
Currently the project team are providing one-to-one company support, establishing small group action learning sessions for the participants and introducing companies to relevant university, Government and business support agencies who offer opportunities such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and grant assistance.
