Innovative Actions Programe Workshops
Leadership (Also Programme Launch) - 19/4/05
During this event, Derek Gallaher (SEP Ltd) and Professor John Marshall (Director of Research and Commercial Development, Glasgow Caledonian University) both described the project as not only interesting but included innovative approaches to supporting businesses that could make great economic impact. Professor Rodney McAdam (Project Director/University of Ulster-UU), who is currently undertaking a similar cross-border project in Ireland, provided participants with a report on their progress. Neil Mitchell (UU) provided a demonstration of an innovative approach to brainstorming during meetings using ZING technology. Zing’s meeting software not only increases the amount of information likely to be contributed by participants during sessions but also records information for later use.
During feedback, participants suggested that ZING was an innovative system that worked. Participants’ feedback also suggested:-
- the product was easy to use
- provided an opportunity for everyone to engage – even the quietest member of the team
- generated more information than conventional brainstorming sessions
- saved the information in word format which was useful
- all agreed it was also great fun to use.
